منذ أن قررت الحكومة الماليزية بقيادة د/ مهاتير محمد تطوير ماليزيا اتجهت ماليزيا نحو جذب الاستثمارات الخارجية خاصة من اليابان وكوريا الجنوبية , أرسلت الحكومة الماليزية خبراء ماليزيين للتفاوض مع اليابانيين والكوريين للاستثمار في بلاده , قامت اليابان بتلبية الدعوة وقامت بانشاء طريق سريع ذو 3 حارات للاتجاه الواحد وهذا الطريق يمتد من سنغافورة جنوبا حتى تايلاند شمالا , كما يدحل الطريق عدة مدن أخرى ويوقم المواطنون بدفع رسوم للشركة اليابانية مالكة هذا الطريق , وقامت الشركات بالتوافد على ماليزيا واقامة المشروعات العملاقة , وكان للسياحة نصيب في ذلك فتم بناء مدينة العاب صنواى لاجون الضخمة وهى مدينة ملاهى مائية , وكذلك مدينة ملاهى جنتنج ومدينة ملاهى ماينز ومدينة ملاهى بوكيت ميراه وآي سيتى في شاه علم , وتم الاهتمام بالمتاحف والابراج مثل منارة كوالالمبور والبرجين التوأمين KLCC , وتم الاهتمام بالجزر وذلك بأقامة الفنادق بمستويات عديدة وتوفير المطارات الداخلية حيث تحتوى ماليزيا على 36 مطار دولى وداخلى , كل هذا من صنع الإنسان , فماذا عن الطبيعة التى لم تلمسها يد إنسان , انها مرتفعات كاميرون هايلاند وهى تبعد 4 ساعات بالسيارة عن العاصمة كوالالمبور , حيث يوجد بها مزارع الشاى ومزارع الفراولة وكذلك مزارع عسل النحل ويوجد في كاميرون أفضل 3 شلالات في ماليزيا هو شلال روبنسون وشلال اسكندر وشلال باريت حيث تشتهر ولاية ايبوه التى يوجد بها بالمرتفعات بالامطار الغزيرة خاصة بين شهرى أكتوبر ومارس من كل عام , الطبيعة أيضا موجودة في جزيرة تيومان وللأسف فأن معظم العرب المسافرون إلى ماليزيا يجهلون هذه الجزيرة مع أنها مصنفة عالميا من حيث نقاء الماء والشواطئ والخدمات
